Hello people!!!! We’re back from Phuket since Monday but I have been very very busy with work since we came back and haven’t had the chance to update the blog.

Phuket was sure fun!!! We were there for 4 days and 3 nights together with 2 other families of friends. Everywhere we went, we caused havoc hahaha coz each couple comes with a toddler or infant. There was a 2 year old boy, a 1 year old boy and a 10-month old baby amongst the 6 adults. At every place we were at, be it the plane, the van, by the road or the beach, at least one of them will be making noises. Ayra is of course the noisiest of the lot, screaming her lungs out whenever she pleases hahahaha.

I must say it is VERY tiring going on a holiday with a baby in tow but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Rather than leaving her at home and me thinking of her all the time, it’s better to lug her around with me. Plus she is still breastfeeding so I can’t leave her that long. So what did we do?? Here’s the summary:

Day 1: Went to the airport in the morning, and waited for our afternoon flight. It was Ayra’s first time on a plane and thank God she didn’t freak out or anything. She was really calm and slept on the plane. Arrived in Phuket at about 1 p.m., transferred to the tour van and went for lunch. It was soooo hot in Phuket, and suddenly after lunch Ayra had her first nosebleed!!! We almost panicked as it is not common for the both of us, but we managed to calm down and took care of the problem. She didn’t even cry much, just showed discomfort because of all the liquid in her nose. We cleaned her off and put a wet towel over her head and she was fine.. perhaps it’s due to the pressure of the plane and also the heat of the weather. Checked in the hotel, then we walked about and checked out Bangla Road and Patong Beach. Went back to hotel to rest and bathe etc, went for dinner and then Phuket Fantasea for the show. It was such an elaborate set the Fantasea but I wouldn’t say it was THAT worth it. More like a cultural show kinda thing. Back to hotel about 11+, went straight to bed.

Day 2: The tour van picked us up at 10 a.m. and took us on city tour around the island. Went to Karon View which is like a hilltop with the view of coves and bays, then went to a shooting range where the boys had fun shooting guns and off to the elephant trekking place. I didn’t take Ayra on the elephant ride just coz it was soooo hot in the afternoon and I didn’t think she will appreciate it much so I just showed her the baby elephant there and we took some pics and fed the little calf while waiting for the rest of the friends who went on the rides. Then we went for lunch and the cashewnut factory and then the gems factory. We didn’t shop much except for some cashews. The tour ended at about 3-4 p.m. Then we walked around the hotel area just to look around and stuff. Took Ayra to the pool in the evening where she had some fun and then off to dinner and more walking around the beach side till we get tired and settle down for some ice-cream before retiring for the night.

Day 3: Today the tour started early, at 8 a.m. We were taken to the other side of the island, about 2 hours car ride. Stopped by a cave where there were lots of monkeys and inside the cave was a temple. Bad me didn’t even take note of the name hahaha. There was a huge reclining Buddha in the cave-temple. Then we proceeded to the Phang Nga bay where we took a longtail boat (also Ayra’s first time on a boat and still she didn’t freak out) of about 45 minutes ride to visit the famous James Bond island. Afterwards we went to a floating Muslim village for lunch, then back to the bay. We went walking around the Patong area again and visited some roadside stalls, before going back to our rooms and preparing to go down to the beach. We took the kids to the beach in the evening and brought them swimming and to play with the sand. Ayra tried to eat some sand here hahaha but she wasn’t afraid of the sea even though it was also her first time in it. Then we had a big seafood dinner and went to the new shopping mall, Jungceylon and did some shopping there. Had more ice-cream and then retired for the night.

Day 4: We just lazed around the hotel in the morning, then went to Patong Beach for lunch before checking out and waiting for the pickup van to take us to airport for our 4 p.m. flight home….

Overall, the trip was a great one, save for Ayra who wouldn’t sleep in her carrier or her stroller. We came prepared with stroller, carrier and also sling because different places calls for different kind of transportation for Ayra hahaha. She would only sleep in her sling and that’s bad for my shoulders and back. And we also didn’t get to go to any spa for massages as our friends with older kids will go either early in the morning (Ayra’s not up yet) or late at night (Ayra needs to sleep with me) so that’s the sacrifice I had to make lah.

She was also VERY hyper throughout the trip. During the first day when we had to push her bedtime (the Fantasea show was at 9-10.30 p.m. our time) she grumbled and slept halfway through the show. But the next 2 nights, she could stay up till 11-12!!! She will climb and climb and scream and shout and look all around and wouldn’t sit still in her stroller hahahaha. I think she behaved really well for a baby that age.

Anyways, here’s some pictures to share. There’s soooo many more but I cannot provide the source as there’s too many of my face in there hahaha and I need to keep anon u know what I mean??
