This week would be my 4th week at Greener Pasture (GP). So far things has been going good, though I am still pretty much blur about how things are being done. But I am already getting busy at work. Though I can’t complain much, I am still able to get home before the sun sets and is able to spend more time with the family as opposed to getting home at night before this so I am thankful for that sense.
On the home front, lil miss Ayra is getting more and more active by the day!!! It’s getting quite tiring to entertain her as she also gets bored very very fast. I need to keep changing the venue of her play area and keep changing the stuff she plays with. The lil girl is not very interested in toys and will throw them away after about 5 seconds of studying them but she is interested in things such as remotes, pens, papers, books, cups, basically; everyday household stuff. Thus we have to keep watch on her 24-7 lest she crawls and grabs the pots and plants and her grandma’s many many novelty items lying around the house. And she haven’t even started walking yet hahaha. She also sees all the tiny items on the floor; grains of rice, ants, dust particles, a piece of thread, hair and would eagerly pick them up and put it in her mouth! Gahhhh!!!! I hate this trait.. I made sure to make someone watch over her 24-7.
Our household of 9 had 2 maids before this. 2 maids are needed as u can just imagine the amount of work to be done for 9 plus 3 of them are school-going kids and there is a lil baby to be taken care of. Last week 1 of them went back for good and we’re left with only a maid to take care of everything, cooking included. I don’t mind doing my part, I can clean after our own room and our own laundry and stuff, but I do pity the maid during the day when she had to clean and cook and have to watch over a hyper clingy baby who wouldn’t let her out of her sight else she will scream her lungs out. The solution? The maid will carry Ayra around with her on her back in the sarong while she cleans and cooks. I seriously pity her, as I know my daughter is not that light!
We cut Ayra’s hair for the ?-th time. I lost count, her hair is so thick and grows so fast! Instead of the usual round mushroom-shaped hair, I gave her a different cut this time. I cut her fringe short and layered her sideburn and also the back hair. I didn’t cut her back hair short. She looks soo different but less round I think this time. Thank God the experiment turned out ok and didn’t turn out funny. Though, the fringe is crooked lah as usual. She screamed her lungs out and kept turning her head left and right, up and down as we attempted to cut her hair. NOT an easy task.
We’re in the process of weaning Ayra off Mommy. She is just becoming too clingy to me and would want me at the very sight of me. She prefers me to carry her, prefers me when she’s tired, wants only me to pacify her when crying, wants to sit in the car on me and only me to sleep with. Though it is very flattering, it’s also very tiring for me. I think it’s partly due to the fact that she’s still breastfed and also coz Daddy keeps disappearing for weeks at a time. They used to be so close, Ayra and Daddy. So, we’re trying to work on the situation. After work, Daddy will play and sit with Ayra, only passing her to me when she needs to be fed and Daddy will also help to pat Ayra to sleep. I also want to try to get Daddy to be with her in the car sometimes when we go out.
Speaking of which, just as we’re starting the Ayra-Daddy initiative, Daddy is away againnnnnn. For 2 weeks this time. We just found out after we came back from Phuket thus me not blogging about it before. I really pity him, keep having to be away from us. At the same time, I am also a tad bit pissed as it means I have to take care of her alone, again. But I guess I am handling it much better this time. The golden rule is, NOT more than 2 weeks at a time. And since he is keeping it within this time, I didn’t nag till the moon turns blue hahaha. I am just taking it a day at a time, and treating it as another period of Ayra-Mommy time. And looking forward to him coming back end of next week. (Anybody with plans this weekend, do ask us along! Hahahaha)
Ok! I wanted to write a short post, but look how long this one became hahaha. For now, some recycled pics of Ayra from our Phuket trip. There’s more recent pics at home but I didn’t upload it into the office pc. Enjoy!

When we went to the shooting range, I put on the muffler for her. She started messing with them and they ended up on her cheeks!! Hahahaha
