Already???? My goodness how time flies!!!! My lil baby will be a 1-year-old toddler next month!!!!

I seriously can’t believe this… she is gonna be 1…. suddenly it feels too fast and I just want her to stop growing and stay a baby forever hahahaha. Her development is just amazing and it’s getting harder to keep track of them. I must say I also noticed in the past month that she looks different, she has lost some of her baby fat and also her baby face. Now when she smiles, we can see her 4 teeth and she is not a toothless baby anymore. *Sigh*. I am gonna miss my lil baby but I am also looking forward to a toddler’s antics! Let’s see her developments since she turned 10 months old…

1. Her weight stayed at 9+kgs for the past 2-3 months. Now she is not so chubby anymore but she is definitely getting longer. (She can already fit into 18-24 months sized local brand clothes). She lost some of the cheek’s, thighs and tummy’s chubbiness. She eats the same as per last month but is drinking less milk. She used to drink 4 bottles of milk during the day but now it has gone down to 2-3 bottles only. It’s sooooo hard to get her to drink more but the good news is, since I can meet her demand, she is almost back to being fully breastfed hahaha.
2. She knows the difference between her baby food and adult food. Sometimes when she refuses to eat from her plastic bowl and plastic spoon, we had to trick her by hiding the bowl and using normal stainless steel spoon to feed her. We will pretend to eat the food and then only feed her from the ‘adult’ spoon. Only then will she eat! Smart girl!
3. She sleeps a lot lesser too. A 2-hour nap in the morning and a half hour to 1-hour nap in the afternoon and sometimes none at all. When I return from work everyday I have to put her down for a half hour nap and so her bedtime is pushed back to about 10-10.30 at night.
4. Has 4 teeth still. 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom. And she just loves to smile and show us her teeth haha. Funny thing is, her 2 top teeth are HUGE and there’s a big gap in the middle hahahahaha. And the bottom 2 teeth are just oh-so-small! I think it kinda shows her cheeky character.. and I so need to show a pic of her teeth soon!!! Soon ok?
5. She is not walking.. yet. But is an expert at pulling herself up anywhere, cruising, and is able to stand unsupported for short periods. The longest she has done this is for about 20 seconds while clapping her hands hahahaha.
6. She is now not afraid of sitting back down from a standing position. She used to be soooo afraid of falling down but now is an expert at estimating heights and also can control her legs well to sit slowly from a standing position. This has made her unstoppable hahahaha.
7. She is soooooo active and hyper!!!! This little girl simply cannot sit and do nothing. She is on her hands and knees almost all the time, and will only rest on her butt for short periods. It is also getting so much harder to put her to sleep, doesn’t matter for naps or at night. The moment u lay her down, she will flip around and get up and start crawling elsewhere, at lightning speed. The solution I had taken up for the past week is how the maid has been putting her to sleep; swaddling. I use the ‘kain batik’ to wrap her tightly so she can’t move. Thank God she’s used to it so she doesn’t protest much.
8. She understands quite a few words now. Will lift up her hand up high and smile whenever we say “Siapa Ayra/pandai/cute/naughty/smelly/etc angkat tangan!!!” Will also put her finger into her mouth (as if to point) when we say “Ayra tunjuk gigi”. Will point to just about anything or anyone when we say “Ayra where’s meow” hahah I guess she only understands the word ‘where’ and know we are asking her to point at something. Knows to wave when we say “Bye-bye Ayra”. Whenever she picks up a phone or remote, she will hold them to her ears haha coz she has seen us talking on the phone many times. Best thing is, she even understands the word ‘hello’ and will put her hand to her ears whenever we say “Hello, Ayra” hahahaha. The way she does this is just too cute, as she doesn’t put the finger side of her hands to the ears, instead she will flip her hands and put the back side of her hand to her ear. I can’t describe it, maybe we should take a pic to demonstrate hahaha.
9. Knows how to ‘kiss’. She understands when we put our cheeks near her and ask her to”sayang mommy/daddy” and she will open her mouth and put it over our cheeks. Sometimes she just puts her mouth there for a while, other times she will lick us, sometimes she will suck and sometimes she will blow hahahaha. Whatever it is, that wet kiss is the best feeling in the world!!
10. Can really imitate us well. She will copy just about any faces we show to her and that is soooo highly entertaining! Hahahahaha.

I think I can go on and on but that is enough for now. Maybe I will update when I remember more. We both just love playing with her now, as she starts to understand more, respond more and interact more. This is sooo much fun and makes us rush home from work everyday! I am both anticipating and dreading to post for her 1-year mark next month. I am both excited and sad at the same time. *sigh*. But whatever it is, it’s been a wonderful journey with Ayra. Mommy and Daddy love u loads!!!!
