Lil Miss Ayra turned 16 months yesterday! (but mommy was too busy to post this yesterday) Yipeee.. 2 more months to go before she’s 1.5 years old..
At 16 months, she’s exactly 10 kgs and about 84 cms. She seems to grow vertically but not horizontally lahh. Aiyoo. She has nice long curled-in hair, the type you get only after a visit to the salon. Jealous ok!
What can she do now? I must admit I haven’t really been giving it much thought and I can’t remember many now but we’ll see la what we can get.
- She throws tantrums!!!! When she points to something and we don’t give it to her or say “no” she will scream!!
- She still picks at her food. She has long ago rejected porridge, and would only eat 4-5 spoonfuls of rice, so now it’s back to square one - baby cereal or rusks in mush. Weirdddd… when we go out, I would buy her buns and she would just eat those.
- Starts to self-feed in a VERY VERY messy way. She insists to stand on our chair when we eat dinner and she needs her own bowl placed in front of her with food in it where she will pick some, eat some, throw some down to the floor and feed some to anyone in front of her. Now u can’t resist or say no when she wants to feed you coz she’ll just throw the food at your face! Hahahaha.
- She’s a little sneaky manipulator. She knows Daddy and Mommy always says “no” to her and so who does she turn to?? Grandparents of course. She gets her way, any way with them. Tsk tsk tskkkkk.
- Still talks in Ayra-nese. It’s still ‘Mama’ for Mommy, ‘Dada’ for Daddy, ‘Bebe’ for Baby, ‘Zeze’ for Susu. The rest, only she understands. Hahahaha.
- She’s less teriffied of strangers. It only takes about 5 minutes until she will warm up. BUT, strangers still cannot carry her. Touching is ok, but no carrying.
- Mastered the art of ’salam’. Will gladly hold out her hand, take the other person’s hand, bring it to her mouth and go “mmmuah!” when we say “Ayra, salam”. Of course, provided she has warmed up to the person.
- Loves playing peek-a-boo! Though her version is *hide* “tetetetete…… TAK!!!!” *unhide*. She hides behind her own hands, behind the comforter, etc etc. Very damn cute, especially the ‘tetetete’ part hahaha.
- Finally figured out the shape sorter and stacking rings. Hahahaha. Maybe we haven’t been encouraging her enough but yeah she got the hang of it now and especially loves the stacking ring.
- She also now has a baby doll she calls ‘Bebe’ and a toy stroller her grandma got her. Must take pic of her pushing the doll. She adores the doll and lights up whenever she sees it, greets it with a kiss and a big hug but then throws it down to the ground after 20 seconds :D She will also push the stroller but can’t maneuver the bends and corners, thus she will push the stroller till she reached a dead end, try to push it some more, pull it backwards and forward again, get to the dead end again, then she’ll just abandon the whole thing and go do something else. Hahahaha.
- Figured out that some stuff can be climbed on to reach higher stuff. Loves pushing boxes and such towards tables so that she could climb on it and reach for mommy and daddy’s no-no stuff for her. Tsk tsk.
- Loves hiding stuff!!! Just 2 days ago after coming back from work, I pumped a full bottle of milk and put it on a pedestal by the door so I could remember to keep it in the fridge on the way out from the room. Afterwards, I went for my bath. Then, I couldn’t find the bottle!! (I’m quite sure daddy wasn’t really watching her hahaha must have been facing the pc). I searched high and low and just can’t find it. The NEXT day, the maid found the bottle. Hidden among our dirty clothes in the laundry basket. She can actually open the basket, hide the milk deep down (coz we did sort of search in there earlier) and closed the basket again (it had a cover). Naughty girl!!! Here’s to more stuff going missing and turning up in weird places. (But it was sadddd to see a full bottle of precious milk gone down the drain)
- Is very very VERY accident-prone. She trips almost everytime she runs, sometimes on the carpet, sometimes over her own feet, and other stuff on the floor (they never look where they run to right). She walks and runs into walls and stuff coz she loves looking the other way while running. She gets her fingers stuck between the door. She scratches her own face. And many many more. I have pics of her first ‘major’ accident, have to remember to get it from the pc at home!
Ok, I’m out of ideas. Here’s hoping I’d update this blog more often!
