My darling turned 1.5 years 2 days ago. Big milestone! No, I didn’t forget, just didn’t have the contents to write. Let’s try this now…
- Still a BIG GREAT Barney fan. It’s still ‘Baba’ all the way for her, but she’s starting to become more interactive. She’s starting to follow what the kids on the show do, be it clap hands, dance around, stamp feet, yada yada. So cute to watch her grooving to the music hahaha. I really should take more videos of her.
- She starts to recognize music. You know the song “If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands..” She doesn’t really clap her hands, but she knows the stamping feet part. Whenever we sing to her that song, when the part “If you’re happy and you know it then your face will surely show it” she will put her fingers to her cheeks to signal the smile. She knows what part to do what so I guess she knows rhythms now hahaha.
- Understands instructions like ‘give mommy/daddy/uncle amir’, ‘pick up’, ‘jom’, ‘bam’ (lie down), can say ‘nak’ or ‘nanak’ if she wants or don’t want things but sometimes she gets mixed up hahaha. Cutest thing is she knows each time we go out the door and tell her to ‘get your shoes’ she will go to the corner where her shoes are and choose a proper pair and take it to me and sit down for me to put it on her. Thing is, she will take a different pair each time, but she knows to take 2 of the same pair. Sometimes she takes her dress shoes (mom2ashley&aidan, I got her Clarks too!) to go to Giant, and sometimes takes her Havaianas to go to the mall. Hahaha. Of course I will then exchange the shoes.
- She knows to show properly what she wants by signalling and pointing and talking in her language, but will get frustrated when we don’t get what it is she really wants hahaha. Like, pointing to the fridge and signalling for us to open it. How would we know what she wants from inside it?? Hahaha. Solution, just let her dig in the fridge and take what she wants la.
- Whenever we take her out, after getting out of the car, we will get her stroller out. The moment she sees it, she will signal (by patting the stroller) that she wants to sit in it. Funny girl. But of course, not for long. After half an hour or so she will signal to be let down and roam freely.
- Our little girl is no longer timid. We used to not worry about her roaming about when we’re seated at a restaurant and when we walk about as she used to not wander far and will always follow us, but noooo not anymore! She will just walk (or run) wherever she wants to, far away from us to explore. It’s getting tiring bringing her to malls as she won’t sit in the stroller for long (yes, the mp5 player helps but once it’s out of battery, that’s it!), and she doesn’t want to hold our hands! She will happily walk in and out of stores, touching and grabbing everything and anything, suka kaki dia je nak pergi mana. Tsk tsk. Time to get that ‘leash’ thing out.
- She also loves the shopping cart. The moment we reach Giant (the friendly neighbourhood store for our grocery needs) she will run towards the cart and point to it. Funny la how she loves that thing hahaha.
- Still struggling to talk. She says a different thing everytime! Like for example
Daddy: Girrafe
Ayra: Chee-uh
Daddy: Girrafe
Ayra: Teee-ka
Daddy: Girrafe
Ayra: Piii-ka
Daddy: Girrafe!
Ayra: Uh-uh… gabble ta! Baba tatata!
Daddy: (cannot tahan laughing already)
- Food intake is still the same, though is starting to show preference for chicken rather than fish. Thank God she is not allergic to it anymore. Milk, taking less from the bottle but still lots from me. Too bad my milk supply is diminishing slowly but surely hahaha.
- Takes vitagen and Calci-yum almost everyday now. Bananas sometimes and papaya other times. Doesn’t like apples unless in sauce form.
No idea la what else to write.Baby Center says she can now hold her bladder and we can start potty-training her but urk! I’m so not ready for the trouble (not to mention, mess). So I’m giving her more time for this.
Can’t recall anymore la, but this month will be a growth spurt month for her! We’ll wait and see yeah.
p/s: Pics are random, and may not have anything to do with content. Hahahaha.
hihi cutenya tocang ayra. and mana dpt that rasta hat?
does ayra like to peel off that vitagen’s foil lid using her teeth? coz nunu does and sometimes she kunyah2 the foil! if i don’t stop her sure dah masuk perut. eeek!
